Associate Director, Performance Marketing

We are looking for an Associate Director of Performance Marketing to drive growth of the Book of the Month business by leading the planning and optimizing of our performance marketing channels. The successful candidate will have a strong analytical foundation, while also possessing the creativity and user-centric thinking required to create campaigns and conversion funnel improvements that improve performance. This is a great opportunity for a marketer who is looking for an opportunity to lead an at-scale customer acquisition program in D2C subscription. 

You will… 

  • Lead the in-house Performance Marketing team and external agency partners to manage channels and campaigns to performance goals across Facebook, Instagram, Adwords, TikTok, TV/OTT, and other relevant acquisition channels. 
  • Use your advanced data analytics skills and channel expertise, and partner with the Creative team, to develop and execute robust testing roadmaps across channels.
  • Gather, process, and analyze campaign data in depth, extract insights, and propose actionable changes for future testing and optimization. 
  • Create and own a testing roadmap for each channel. Carefully execute and record each test and build a well organized repository of testing information the organization can use to learn from and reference.
  • Partner with the product team to own technical implementation, i.e., Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Pixel installation, to ensure accurate ads delivery, tracking, and internal reporting.
  • Manage the process of budgeting, reforecasting, and reporting for all paid acquisition channels, and regularly share performance insights, learnings, and go forward strategy suggestions with key stakeholders across the business. 


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Marketing or related field
  • 5-7 years experience in performance marketing, with 3+ years dedicated to running paid social advertising at scale. Paid Facebook experience strongly preferred. 
  • Experience driving customers to digital products where online purchase is the primary conversion event for the business.
  • You are a strategic, analytical problem solver with the proven ability to structure a data-driven approach to complex business problems.
  • You’re a builder, optimizer, and executor, demonstrating an exceptional ability to manage high visibility campaigns, while always seeking to optimize.
