The Manager, Strategic Initiatives will lead the evaluation and development of new products, services, and other growth opportunities at Book of the Month. The successful candidate will possess a combination of three skills: (a) Analytical customer/market research, (b) Product management, and (c) Growth and marketing. This role will require you to both analyze and execute, pivoting between the two iteratively to develop a product that addresses a marketing need and grows our business.
About the Role:
Act as the project manager on multiple initiatives across different aspects of the business to drive growth, including:
Develop and maintain detailed project plans;
Coordinate meetings and working sessions with project stakeholders;
Proactively communicate important information across the team;
Anticipate and mitigate potential issues and risks;
Monitor and report results.
Evaluate new business development opportunities, including:
Conduct market research and opportunity analysis;
Prepare business models analysis;
Develop detailed project plans to bring new opportunities to life, working cross-functionally with product, engineering, finance, operations, and creative teams;
Summary your work in concise, yet thorough written documents and plans.
Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years experience in consulting or banking and product management or marketing at a growth oriented company.
eCommerce, consumer brands or product management is a plus
Highly analytical, detail oriented, and resourceful
Able to prioritize work effectively while juggling multiple tasks
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and ready to work hard.
Interested in commercial fiction, book clubs, and ecommerce.
