Associate Project Manager, Supply Chain & Operations

Book of the Month is seeking an Associate Project Manager to lead our most important supply chain initiatives, with a focus on reducing costs and improving the customer experience. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, an excellent communicator, and passionate about continuous improvement and project management. This role will be integral in leading and driving a variety of projects with high-level visibility and significant impact across many aspects of the business. 


About the Role

  • Manage and execute a variety of complex projects that optimize our supply chain, reduce costs, and improve the customer experience (e.g., analyze packing automation alternatives and implement the best option).
  • Work with leadership to develop and standardize the approach for initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing projects with key stakeholders.
  • Identify project resource requirements, escalate resource constraints, prevent roadblocks and generate risk mitigation plans.
  • Clearly communicate project status and results to leadership.
  • Prioritize tasks and adapt as needed based upon changing priorities. 
  • Perform root cause analysis to understand, prevent, and mitigate issues.
  • Understand and monitor the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure project deliverables are accurate and on-time.
  • Organize and track details across a wide range of projects simultaneously.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Math, or another analytical discipline.
  • 3-5 years of cross-functional project management experience.
  • PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of PM software, tools, processes, and techniques (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, Agile). 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge in supply chain, procurement, quality, inventory planning and logistics.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to perform in a high-volume, fast paced and dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated analytical problem solving capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate and influence people at all levels in the organization through strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Proactive decision-maker, leader and motivator
  • Strong Excel skills are a must.
