Manager of Experiential Marketing

Book of the Month is seeking an entrepreneurial and experienced Manager of Experiential Marketing to develop live programs that will facilitate the growth of our audience and engagement of our community across the U.S.  Your mission will be to create an event tour that incorporates our featured authors and titles, but also goes beyond reading to create a resonant immersive experience.

The successful candidate needs to be able to lead this initiative from start to finish, including creating a vision and business strategy, building marketing campaigns, handling operational aspects, and reporting results.  We are seeking someone who is comfortable wearing many different hats and thrives in an unstructured, dynamic environment. This individual should have a passion for live events and a thirst for brand building, pop-culture, and new release fiction.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop an overall vision and strategic plan for BOTM live events
  • Project manage the launch and operation of the program by gathering appropriate resources and coordinating with internal stakeholders
  • Develop marketing programs to promote the events to both our existing BOTM audience and to new audiences
  • Pursue partnerships and integrations that will make the initiative more successful
  • Hire and manage required vendors and/or staff for all events and programs.
  • Undertake continuous analysis of competitive environment and consumer trends
  • Travel to events to oversee content strategy and execution

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in consumer-facing live events, experiential marketing, content development and/or PR
  • Strong knowledge of trends in pop-culture, live events and experiential marketing
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills
  • Experience training and managing staff in events and/or retail environment
  • Self-motivated “doer” mentality
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to channel creative concepts into real world output
  • Should be a fan of new release fiction
