Book of the Month is the largest eCommerce book subscription service in the U.S. We are dedicated to helping our members discover books they’ll love. Our mobile app and site features exclusive content on over 1,000 books for our members to view and purchase. We are seeking a data-driven merchandiser to manage this catalog of books on our app and site, provide insights, and drive business performance. This is a unique opportunity to leverage consumer insights in order to connect books with readers. This position reports to the Editorial Director.  

 

What you will be doing…

  • Manage placement and categorization of books on our mobile app
  • Analyze site data, customer behavior and sales information to improve business results
  • Design and implement site experiments to improve on KPIs 
  • Develop an in depth knowledge of factors that impact book sales to inform merchandising approach
  • Consider and propose new page designs
  • Develop and maintain various reports and analyses for stakeholder review
  • Monitor and evaluate inventory levels for backlist books
  • Handle a variety of other tasks and processes as requested

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in eCommerce merchandising and data analysis
  • Experience working with a CMS (content management system)
  • Knowledge of contemporary book market is a plus
  • Strong math and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to analyze data, compile reports, and present findings to stakeholders
  • Highly organized and process-oriented, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Well-read and up-to-date with newly released upmarket fiction

 

Base salary range between: $90,000 - $140,000
