Manager/Supervisor
Book of the Month is looking for a Creative Director to help us deliver excellent, cohesive and high-performing brand experiences across digital and print. This person will manage our Creative team and lead our internal Creative process from brief through execution. The successful candidate will have a high impact on executing brand identity and storytelling for a mission driven, rapidly growing subscription eCommerce company. The position will report to the CEO.
What you’ll do here
- Concept, design and or review all creative assets to produce excellent and high-performing brand messaging include visuals and copy
- Manage and develop our creative team including in house and freelance
- Deliver copy with strong brand-aligned voice
- Ensure cohesiveness across our app, mobile web, email, organic media, paid media and print channels
- Leverage a broad network of top-notch freelance talent across disciplines to match business needs efficiently at any given point in time
- Maintain the company brand book
- Continue to strengthen and evolve our brand identity over time
Requirements
- At least 3 years of in-house experience at a successful D2C / eCommerce brand
- 10+ years of total experience in design and creative execution
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects from ideation to execution
- Strong copywriting skills is a big plus
- Experienced creative generalist with a sophisticated understanding of web and graphic design, fluency with 2D/3D design, art, photography, copy, video
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and relevant creative tools
- Perspective on how creative activations succeed in driving business performance is a plus
- You thrive in situations with ambiguity and complexity
- You like to iterate to achieve the best outcomes
- You are career-oriented and like to manage teams
