Book of the Month is growing, and we are looking for a high potential People Associate that will help us build and manage programs that develop and retain our talent. In this role, you will work collaboratively with the VP of People to build and administer HR programs that enhance the employee experience and performance of the company. You will also work on recruiting and onboarding programs, helping us to build our highly talented team.  This role is ideal for someone passionate about building a career in the HR/People space, and who thrives on building processes in fast-paced environments while maintaining a keen attention to detail.

You will...

  • Build and develop project plans that scope and launch HR programs
  • Work cross-functionally with relevant stakeholders to launch the prioritized HR programs
  • Coordinate and manage the logistics of HR programs, working collaboratively with team members to proactively plan and coordinate as needed
  • Participate in recruiting, hiring and onboarding programs including: sourcing, screening, and recruitment operations, and employee branding
  • Conduct assessments to gain knowledge and insight on ways to continuously improve program effectiveness
  • Over time, identify and offer suggestions to improve program design and administration 


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience; previous experience working at a start-up and/or fast-paced environment is a strong plus
  • Meticulous attention to detail and follow-through; perform tasks with high degree of accuracy and efficiency
  • Ability to work independently, to take initiative and to overcome obstacles
  • Ability to successfully manage competing priorities, keeping constant sight of the overall objectives
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • High degree of flexibility in a demanding, fast-paced and frequently changing environment
  • Proven analytical capabilities; a creative solution seeker with a readiness to try new approaches
  • Portrays an approachable and productive mindset, even in times of stress or uncertainty
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to meet deadline
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
