We are seeking an Editorial Assistant category to support our Editorial Director in running and building Book of the Month. This position involves working across title selection, content development, and process management. Please note: While a love of reading books is important, the primary responsibilities of this position are operational and analytical––this is a challenging position for a super hard-working person!
You will …
Track and obtain relevant upcoming manuscripts for BOTM consideration
Organize and input contacts, sales numbers, and other data into spreadsheets for review
Draft, edit and post content for our blog, social platforms, and site
Manage timely work production schedule (jacket design, print orders, etc.)
Prepare, build and analyze member surveys
Engage with our community on social media
Assist with reading and curation of BOTM book selections
Do many other things of this ilk!
Minimum of 2 years of experience in one or more of: editorial, copywriting, content marketing, PR, or online product management. Experience in the book business or at eCommerce or entrepreneurial companies is a plus.
Ability to write/create great content for our website, blog, email, Instagram and other social media channels. Experience and examples of previous content you have created is a requirement.
Interest and ability to use quantitative data to inform qualitative decisions. Ability to do math and use Microsoft Excel well is a requirement.
Exceptional writing skills and ability to communicate in clear, powerful language.
Detail-oriented, well-organized, super hard-working.
A love of reading front list books, and enthusiasm for the BOTM community.
