Copy Lead

Book of the Month is looking for a talented, versatile copywriter to execute and evolve our brand voice. As a key member of a nimble creative team, you’ll develop copy for all projects—from paid ads and marketing emails to TV spots and pop-up stores—that’s confident, cheeky, and empathetic. Our brand is at a transformative stage, and our new Copy Lead will help define how we communicate to over 10 million readers every month.

What you’ll do here

  • Embody a confident, cheeky, and empathetic brand voice and execute copy for all consumer-facing touch points (e.g., digital and print marketing, paid ads, product features, landing pages).
  • Partner with brand designers to brainstorm, concept, and execute compelling assets and campaigns that address business and design needs while upholding brand standards.
  • Partner with the Product team to execute functional product copy that is clear and concise without sacrificing personality.
  • Work closely with the marketers and product managers to assess results and optimize creative performance.
  • Maintain and evolve our brand voice, ensuring consistency across all touch points in the customer journey.

What you bring to the table

  • 8+ years experience developing brand voice and writing copy, especially in-house at lifestyle consumer brands
  • A strong portfolio of compelling marketing, product, and brand copy
  • Self-starting ambition—we’re an early-stage startup and the people who thrive here can manage their time well and take initiative  
  • Comfort presenting and defending your work to C-level stakeholders
  • Affinity for data-driven feedback and iteration
  • Bonus points for (but not required): general familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Sketch
