Book of the Month is looking for a Director of Supply Chain to lead all aspects of our operations. We are seeking a leader who has a proven track-record of scaling operations, driving cost efficiencies, maintaining quality, and delivering a world-class customer experience. With many aspects of our operations (and software) in-house, an action-oriented leader will have the opportunity to shape the organization and drive results first-hand. The Director of Supply Chain will report to the COO and will be a key driver of Book of the Month’s continued rapid growth.

About the role:

Drive improvements across our supply chain and e-commerce operations, from “click-to-ship” and from “ship-to-delivery.”
- Identify opportunities for improvement by analyzing data and building and presenting succinct analytical business cases to leadership and colleagues.
- Develop standardized reporting in order to monitor, communicate, and improve upon important operating metrics across service levels, throughput, cost, and quality.
- Deliver results by acting as a disciplined and visible project manager for our most important operational initiatives.
- Work closely with the business applications software team to build the software capabilities required to support and execute our projects/operations efficiently.
Partner with Finance to develop the cycle forecast which drives all aspects of our operations.
Work closely with our in-house warehouse and member services teams to create staffing and scheduling plans that match our highly variable demand forecast.
Actively manage our vendor relationships to achieve our business objectives
Hire, train and develop an extraordinary team of operations professionals

Qualifications:

7+ years in operations and/or supply chain. Consumer facing e-commerce experience, or strategy/operational consulting experience at a top firm is strongly preferred.
Bachelor’s required, engineering or other analytical discipline strongly preferred.
Strong excel modeling skills are required. You’ve personally built and owned large, complex operating models and used them to make business decisions.
Top-notch project management skills. You’ve acted as project manager on multiple large and small scale projects occurring simultaneously. You have a strong POV on how to manage projects.
Experience working with in-house engineering and product teams to build-out software to support operations
